Warranty
VULCAN LIGHTING
LIMITED MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY POLICY
1. Limited Warranty Coverage & Periods
Vulcan Lighting warrants to the original purchaser (“Customer”) that all Vulcan Lighting products shall be free of manufacturing defects in material and workmanship (“factory faults”) from the date of the original purchase invoice. Proof of purchase (original purchase invoice) must be explicitly retained by the Customer and presented for the warranty to apply under any circumstances.
Vulcan Lighting offers two tiers of warranty coverage based on application and registration status:
Standard Warranty (12 Months): All Vulcan Lighting fixtures and OEM products are automatically covered under a 12-Month (365 Days) Limited Warranty from the original invoice date. This tier applies to mobile use, production rental stock, and unregistered products.
Extended Fixed Installation Warranty (24 Months): A 24-Month Extended Warranty is available exclusively for products utilized in permanent, fixed installations. To qualify for this extended period, the hardware must be permanently installed by certified professionals, and the system must be officially registered online within thirty (30) days of the installation completion date.
2. Fixed Installation Extended Warranty Registration
To validate and activate the 24-Month Extended Warranty, the client or installing contractor must register the hardware online.
Where to Register: Registrations must be submitted via the official portal at: https://vulcanlighting.co.za/warranty-registration/
Timeframe: The installation details, including hardware model numbers, serial numbers, mounting conditions, and professional installation criteria, must be completed and submitted within 30 days from the install date.
Failure to properly register the fixed installation via the online form within the strict 30-day window will restrict the products to the standard 12-month warranty period.
3. Warranty Service & Technical Support
Carry-In Warranty Service: Both the 12-month standard and 24-month extended warranties are strictly Carry-In Warranties. The Customer is solely responsible for safely unrigging, packaging, and transporting/shipping the defective unit to and from the authorized service center. All freight, logistics, and on-site labor costs are borne by the Customer.
Spare Parts & Tech Support: Authorized Vulcan distributors are required to carry a vast array of factory-original spare parts and maintain certified service technicians on standby for efficient turnarounds.
Discretionary Loan Units: To help mitigate operational downtime, distributors maintain a fleet of temporary loan units. However, the provision of loan units is strictly at the sole discretion of the service center. Customers must contact the service department directly to check their specific eligibility and current inventory availability.
4. Warranty Exclusions and Voiding Conditions
This limited warranty covers strictly structural and technical manufacturing defects. It does not cover, and completely voids liability for, the following:
Improper Installation or Environmental Misuse: Fixed installations are subject to proper installation practices by professionals. Installing a non-IP-rated (indoor) unit in an outdoor, wet, or moisture-exposed environment immediately voids all warranties.
LED Performance Variance: LED Life and lumen depreciation may vary depending on several factors including but not limited to: Environmental Conditions (heat, dust, moisture), Power/Voltage stability, Usage Patterns (extreme On-Off Duty Cycling), Control Profiles, and Dimming frequencies. Natural degradation of LED brightness over time is not considered a factory fault.
Physical & Electrical Abuse: Damage caused by improper rigging, dropping, severe physical impact, fluctuating/abnormal voltage, electrical surges, or a lack of clean, stable grounding.
Altered Identity & Unauthorized Service: Any fixture where the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed, or any unit that has been opened and tampered with by an unauthorized technician.
5. Right to Modify Designs and Specifications
Vulcan Lighting reserves the right to make changes, modifications, or enhancements to the design, hardware engineering, physical specifications, and internal firmware of its products at any time, without prior notice. Vulcan Lighting is under no legal or financial obligation to retroactively implement these changes, upgrades, or modifications into any products previously manufactured, distributed, or sold to existing customers.
6. Limitation of Liability
The sole remedy under this warranty is the repair or replacement of the defective component or fixture, determined exclusively by the technical service team. Under no circumstances shall Vulcan Lighting or its distributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential economic losses (including venue downtime, event cancellation costs, or rental penalties).
